This new single-family residence was designed for a young family outside of Cleveland on a private, wooded lot in the Village of Bentleyville, Ohio.

The home is massed about an exterior courtyard featuring a generous pool and outdoor living room with kitchen. Large folding and French patio doors coupled with double-story windows open onto the courtyard, achieving a strong indoor-outdoor connection.

The family loves to entertain and requested that the home have an easy flow between spaces. Gathering areas include a sixteen-foot thin-slab porcelain kitchen island and a living room featuring a two-story, twenty-foot wide linear fireplace with stone masonry. Vibrant art pops against the clean, modern finishes.

The family retained the previous home existing at the front of the lot, transforming it into a guest lodge and retreat space. The exterior of each structure features a natural exterior palette of stained cedar, stucco and stone with a standing seam metal roof.

The home was constructed by Payne & Payne Builders.
