One University Circle has been certified LEED Silver by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED, which stands for “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design” is a building standard that “provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings.”

One University Circle earned LEED Silver certification because numerous sustainable design strategies were implemented. Efficient building systems and a high performance envelope were designed to work together to reduce total energy usage by over 20% from baseline. Plumbing fixtures were selected to achieve a water savings of over 30% throughout the building. Light-colored roofing materials and roof deck pavers were used to help minimize the heat island effect.

Recycling is a core principle of One University Circle. During the design phase, materials selected for the project all met a minimum of 20% recycled content. During construction, contractors were able to divert nearly 90% of waste away from landfills. Additionally, recycling rooms are located throughout the building to encourage residents to recycle throughout the life of the building.

Located within a dense urban community, One University Circle is friendly to multi-modal transportation- there is easy access to public transportation, bicycle parking for residents, and shower facilities for employees who choose to bike to work.

One University Circle is a 533,000 square foot 20-story luxury apartment building developed by First Interstate Properties and Petros Development Corp. and constructed by Panzica Construction.
