Lakewood Common is a transformative mixed-use development in the heart of Lakewood, Ohio. The project, now under construction, is a mix of residential and retail uses organized around an activated system of public open space.

Lakewood Common is located on a six-acre site in Downtown Lakewood.  The plan offers 25,000 sq. ft. of retail space, 296 units of new housing, resort-style amenities and structured parking. The project will feature four new apartment buildings, and will renovate the historic Curtis Block building, located on the corner of Detroit Avenue and Marlowe Avenue.

A five-story mixed-use residential building fronted by an activated public plaza anchors the project at the northern end of the site. This plaza will host neighborhood events as well as provide outdoor seating for the restaurant and retail tenants that surround the space. Moving south, the project reduces its scale with a four-story apartment building facing Marlowe Avenue and a 3.5-story parking garage, fronted by a linear park, facing Belle Avenue. Continuing south, there will be a three-story apartment building, a pocket park and seven family townhomes.

Preserving the historic character of Lakewood, integrating the development with surrounding neighborhood and existing community at large were high priorities for the City, developer and design team.
