Dimit Architects and Gregg S. Levy were honored by the Downtown Cleveland Alliance at the 20th Annual Ruth Ratner Miller Awards for their work on the renovation of 811 Prospect Avenue.

The Ruth Ratner Miller Award is presented annually for “achievement in the advancement and enhancement of Downtown Cleveland.” The award is named for Dr. Ruth Ratner Miller, who was a civic leader and life-long advocate of Cleveland and its people.

The renovation of 811 Prospect Avenue transformed a long-vacant building into a two-story, 26,000-square-foot restaurant (see photos) and office space in a prime location.

Before and after comparison of 811 Prospect Avenue

The concrete-cube building dates to the 1990’s and originally had few windows and a plain façade. The development team added windows to the front and side of the building, and the second floor was redone with a newly created balcony and space for several tenants. Bi-fold garage-door windows were chosen for the restaurant space to create an indoor-outdoor transition space.

The building is owned by Gregg S. Levy and his family, Dimit Architects was the architect and RDS Construction the general contractor.
