The latest issue of Shaker Life Magazine has a nice feature on Mike and Pete Mitchell, the founders of Mitchell’s Homemade Ice Cream.
The duo have long wanted to open a location in their childhood stomping grounds of Shaker Heights, and will do so later this year with the opening of their location in the new Van Aken District.
The location was designed to be a gathering place for the community and to reflect Mitchell’s organizational commitment to sustainability. The building is their first location to be certified through the LEED sustainable building standards program, and features locally-crafted furniture made from recycled materials.
