811 Prospect Avenue was a long-vacant building in the Gateway District of Downtown Cleveland. Constructed in the 1990s as an entertainment venue, Dimit Architects was tasked with reinventing the building for new uses. Renovations to the building included expansive new windows and creation of an exterior balcony to entice tenants to the second floor office spaces. The ground floor was transformed into 811 Kitchen Bar Lounge, an 8,000 sf multifaceted hospitality space operated by Red Restaurant Group. This restaurant offers an extensive bar, sushi and robata stations, and flexible event rooms. Expansive, bi-fold overhead doors are used to create a complete indoor/outdoor dining and lounge experience. 811 features a globally influenced, modern-american menu, offering a varied dining experience with something for everyone. For this project, Dimit Architects provided architectural design services for the building core and shell renovation, interior design and finish selection, furniture and art selection, graphics and signage design.
